#12-FORT DE SOTO PARK Price: $12.00 This generously cut pattern has a large front and back yoke that extends across shoulders to cuffs. There are large gussets under the arms adding room and comfort to the garment. For those of you who are not sure if you want to sew in a gusset (in illustration, appearing to have a square corner at side seam and yoke at underarm) there are instructions that are all straight sewing – no set-in square corners like in traditional gussets.
The blouse is a pull-on with the front cut in 2 pieces and generously overlapped to allow movement without opening when worn. There are pleats in front and back. You can pleat them as full as you want or leave them out altogether. I strongly recommend you make pleats and do not gather. The pleats will hang closer to your body. Gathers will stand out more and will not be as attractive. The jacket also has a round neck finished with a bias edge. Again, you can pleat or leave plain. In the jacket, I do like to put some kind of pleat in back to add movement. You get a PERMISSION SLIP with all Park Bent Pattern Co. patterns that allows you to do ANYTHING you want. These patterns should never look the same. You get instructions for a front facing or a front placket. Pockets are also included. In addition to the blouse and jacket, there are instructions for a long tunic style vest. I have also added an extra cut line across the front and back to encourage you to do some creative sewing. |
