 | The back legs and the left front leg are regular wide pant legs. The right front leg is a double width and folds over itself and ties on the left side and creates a skirt appearance but without the opening a skirt would have. To eliminate the typical “shifting” that usually happens when wearing sarongs, this design is engineered so the left tie is sewn to the inside of the pants in the right side seam, through an inside loop and then out a left side opening. By doing this, when pants are tied, they will not shift and move when worn. This creates hassle free wearing. They can be cut anywhere from full length to above the knee. There is no zipper. Only a hook and eye and a little back elastic. This is a perfect pattern for casual wear – summer vacations, picnics, or just hanging around the house. In hot and humid weather, this soft roomy design made from cotton is cooler than something more close fitted. I personally like to make them cropped somewhere between the knee and ankle creating more of a skirt look. This is a wonderful length for work or travel. If you are a teacher, do take a look at these. For something very chic and with an uptown look, make them out of crepe and wear a suit jacket. For evening, cut them long out of soft silk that has a lot of weight and add a short beaded vest or long soft jacket. |
